STE Energy is accompanying an important international steel player on the #digitization of one of his most strategic HV substations. This transition starts from an accurate campaign of #specializedtests on the system, to identify and fix its weak points, up to the #revamping of the protection and control system, thanks to which the customer will be able to completely monitor and control his electrical infrastructure, increasing its performance and minimizing the downtimes.

Our people performing specialized tests on High Voltage equipment

STE Energy performed maintenance activities with advanced SF6 Gas analysis on a HV substation near Torino (Italy).

SF6 gas quality analysis represents a fast and effective predictive maintenance tool for high voltage equipment. With just one test it is possible to monitor up to six insulation gas parameters and early schedule any gas refilling, gas replacement or extraordinary maintenance interventions.

An increasing number of large industrial companies and renewable energy producers have entrusted their high and medium voltage electricity infrastructure to STE Energy.

Campos del Sol photovoltaic project in Chile moves forward with the Construction of the High Voltage substations.

STE Energy’s staff on site for the construction of the high voltage substations and interconnection line for the Campos del Sol photovoltaic power plant.

With approximately 382 MW of installed capacity, the facility is the largest solar plant currently under construction in Chile. The project, which is located 60 km northeast of Copiapó, Atacama Region, will involve a total investment of around 320 million US dollars by Enel Green Power.


New project launched for the digitization of three hydropower plants in Panama!

STE Energy signed a contract for the full revamping of 3 hydropower plants (30 MW) automation and control system in Panama. The project, in addition to the modernization of the control and supervision system of production plants, also includes the preparation of an advanced centralized control room allowing the remote management of assets and two-way communication with the national dispatch center, through the STE Guardian software.


Covid-19 emergency

STE Energy continues to work despite Coronavirus!

A contract for electromechanical supplies for a new hydroelectric plant under construction in Piemonte has been signed. The new system, which involves the installation of a VLH 5000 turbine, designed and built by our sister company MJ2, will exploit a very low head of about 2.5 meters, with an installed capacity of 400 kW. The power plant is expected to start its operation by the end of this year.


Even in this tough period, STE Energy does not stop!

Connected from our office in Italy, we successfully and safely achieved the remote training and factory testing of multiplexer and teleprotections for the HV substation of “Campos del Sol” solar power plant (382MW) in Chile. Congratulations to the whole “virtual team”!
